About Oconee Leather Works
The word Oconee is speculated to mean "Land beside the water".  The true Cherokee phrase for "Land beside the Water" is pronounced, Ah-Ma Oo-Tl-Di. You can learn more about the origin of the word Oconee by clicking here.

Oconee River

As our name suggests, we are located near the waters of the Oconee River in Jefferson, Georgia.  We began as a supplier of leather belts and sporran straps for the Scottish community.  Our traditional approach to leather working has opened pathways for us into the Reenactor community and Renaissance Festivals.

All of the goods that we make are meticulously crafted by hand and are of a quality that I would be proud to wear myself.  We strive to provide unique designs and functional features in all of our products.  We are constantly expanding and improving our products, but will not sacrifice quality to achieve variety.  If we can't do it right or better, you won't catch us doing it.
